Meet The Good Seed — Bannerman's hearty, handmade seed loaf, packed with whole buckwheat, gluten-free oats and a generous mix of sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, linseed and chia.

We combine whole and finely ground linseed with psyllium and tapioca starch to create a beautifully cohesive loaf with plenty of texture, while a touch of South Otago honey brings a gentle natural sweetness.

The result is a wonderfully nutty, satisfying loaf that's substantial without being heavy.

And while it's delicious fresh, The Good Seed really shines when toasted — crisp and golden on the outside, warm and nutty through the middle and perfect with butter, avocado, eggs, cheese, hummus or your favourite spread.

Why we call it The Good Seed

We wanted to make something a little different from a traditional loaf — something packed with seeds and whole grains, full of texture and flavour, and genuinely delicious to eat.

The Good Seed is our take on the classic seed loaf: simple ingredients, carefully combined and baked by hand in small batches in Balclutha.

The best way to eat it?

Toast it.

A thick slice of The Good Seed, toasted until golden with butter melting into the middle is hard to beat.

It's also brilliant with:

• Soup and hearty lunches

Storage

Store The Good Seed in an airtight container or suitable bread bag at room temperature.

For longer storage, slice and freeze. Individual slices can be toasted straight from frozen.
